-Conclusion
So our Week 2 has been somewhat busy since dealing with multiple tasks outside of production. For our week's reading, we went through some interesting facts about the video game market and covered several facts like the changes in the market or how new technology changes has an effect on the game industry or how market expansion plays a role in most new game console releases. the other subjects include mobile devices like smart phones or tablets that are increasingly popular amongst the mobile marketing.
However, we were all given an assignment to select a chapter from 4-11 and hold a presentation. I had picked chapter 10 from the Definitive Guide book, "Major League; Major Money, Sports", where I was to discuss about the industry of sports. It was an interesting topic to talk about as I got a chance to research the increasing revenues for esports and point out some similarities and differences between both the sports and game marketing industries. If I were to use the previous lectures, the 4 C's of Marketing, into this week's reading, I would see that both the similarities lies with the Convergence marketing (or the increase of sponsorship). The Sports industries and it's esports division have had an increasing of over $900million in last year's revenue and is predicted to continue its rise with a 33% increase for next year. That sort of surprised me, seeing how the game industry has changed over the years and now different opinions are being said about the new games being released on the market.
Weekly Production Review
I've been busy taking care of a few businesses last week and had little time to attend for team meetings with the "Grey Area" production. I had responded a few times on Slack regarding my involvement. One of the marketers of the teams have replied back and wanted to assist me as best to their abilities. I just need to ask a few questions regarding their marketing intents and see how effective current trend of games.
